Craig NewmarkNew speaker added: Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist.

There's a huge amount of recent buzz around transforming government and using the web to make federal agencies and other government entities more transparent, accountable, and accessible to citizens.

At the same time, the public sector is being asked to do more with less. Government agencies also operate within unique constraints

How can public sector organizations get past the hype, glitz, and glamour of Web 2.0 and use it effectively to accomplish their objectives?

This Web Executive Seminar, will help senior decision-makers, web managers, and others see examples of innovative web initiatives that have been successful, hear from colleagues about challenges and issues they are facing, and discuss smart, actionable strategies for pushing the envelope.

Although techies are welcome, the discussion will be strategic in nature focusing on practical real-world examples of successful initiatives.

Our presenters include:

  • Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist: Opening Remarks
  • Darren Krape U.S. Department of State: Social Media for Public Diplomacy
  • Daniel Luxenberg and Sanjay Koyani, FDA:  Gov 2.0 and Peanut Product Recall
  • Marcus Peacock, formerly EPA: The Art of Blogging for the Feds
  • Stacey Young, USAID: Online Events for Microenterprise Collaboration
  • Mark Drapeau, Federal Computer Week / Co-chair Gov 2.0 Expo: Provocateur

The panel will be moderated by Joe Pringle of Forum One Communications.
